The Pirate King
During the shipsmeet, the pirate captains gathered to discuss the building tension of the militaries in the Caribbean and decided it was time to unite for the longevity of their kind. The three Pirate Lords of the region were up for the spot and by the end of the spectacle, Edward Thatch rose victorious. Draped around his neck is a gold medallion bearing a skull with crossbones behind it and two cutlass swords beneath with the words "King" between them. This image is embossed onto the circular medallion with a simple boarder around the edge. Despite its monetary value, it also holds significant sentimental value for pirates, as it is only given to the King. As the Pirate King, he gives orders to other pirate captains in terms of battle and has say in negotiations between other captains or between pirates and other parties (military and non-military). All pirates are currently at peace and those who assault their kin will be dealt with as per the Code. Below is a basic profile layout for this NPC character due to his importance. The moderator and select members will be able to speak for this character.

Edward Thatch was born in Bristol, England and from the start he was nothing but trouble. Fleeing from charges of robbery and mayhem he joined his first crew of pirates at the age of twelve. He took great joy in thieving, fighting, and drinking and was talented enough to impress his crewmates. Living the pirate life, he drank by the cask and bought whores three at a time; occasionally marrying one here and there. In his late teens he made it over to the New World with his crew, plundering the coastal towns along the East Coast of the British Colonies; he came to favor Charles Town. When he was twenty he was captaining his own crew on a two masted brig called Punisher which was painted black with red rails. He spent several years plundering merchant vessels and raiding East Coast towns while making deals with naval officers and politicians. He earned himself a second vessel, a sloop named Destroyer, and broadened his crew after putting his first mate in charge of the new vessel.
While enjoying the rum and women and when good and drunk he preferred to play drinking games and in this drunken fun he created his own lethal game of Whoever Gets Shot Deserved It Anyway. All of his officers would gather in his private cabin for drinks and even all were plastered all lights would be put out except for a single candle. On his signal the men would duck, he'd blow out the candle and then fire a shot into the darkness. If someone was struck, it was proof that the man couldn't be trusted; this game went on until someone was hit or Blackbeard grew bored. Eventually he moved to Tortuga where he and his men began operating from, looting trade ships in the Bahamas. In Tortuga he married a town whore, Lisette, who has managed to remain his wife for the longest period so far of just over a year. During the Spanish assault on Tortuga, Blackbeard was out sailing along the coast of Florida and has since taken refuge in Nassau like many other pirates.

Pirate Lords
For the record, I do plan on these two men dying to be replaced by Members.
